Paint a rock kinda day😄🌸 As you can see the girls are looking forward to Easter 🐣 ✝️
Leah found some pipe cleaners and created a few dinosaur friends. I was planning on using these pipe cleaners to make wire people but I think this is a much better use. Also it’s now used in a lot of imaginative play this morning.
We made some moon sand (cooking oil, flour and food colouring). The girls then used the moon sand as “beach sand” for their under the sea imaginative play.
This was our morning activity, planting some shade loving plants in this shady spot that needed some love. 🌿🌱
Thanks Nana for the new knitting needles and wool, we have time now to finally knit and finish a scarf for winter while in lockdown 🧣 Oh and making the most of using Ouma’s pool 🏊🏼♀️before they get back on Thursday and 🔒⬇️
We just love them rainbows in our home 🌈 so we painted more today and another hanging mobile thing. Scarlett said “mama why are we making baby hanging things? I’m not a baby anymore.” 🤷🏻♀️
We also made glue and salt pictures. I transferred wood glue into these little bottles with spouts for easier drawing. You can also use a paintbrush and paint the glue pic too whichever you have available. We then covered the glue pictures with salt. After that we mixed up some water colour (you could use food colour) and gently drop watercolour onto the salt. Allow to dry😄 such a cool effect and something different to just painting a picture 😉
We made a marble run game from paper straws, a cardboard box and paper. Such a simple yet fun game.
The girls got into the recycling and started creating! Leah made a guitar type instrument with loom band elastics and then after that they both made an outside hanging mobile thing from plastic bottles that I cut for them and they then painted it. When it dries we might decorate it with black permanent marker.
Leah decided she wanted to make a kite today. We watched a YouTube tutorial on how to make them. Most bend the top stick slightly but we only have kebab sticks. It’s not windy enough to test 🙄 🌬
